Complete Scuba Regulators Octo and Gauges - Mares/Tusa
Friday, January 8, 2010 16:12 | Filled in Regulators
Info: I moved from the southeast coast to Vermont a few years ago, and haven’t been diving since. It’s time to unload my dive gear. This is a complete set of regulators and gauges that I dove with for one year in Florida. Total logged dive time on this equipment is only about 50 hours. I’ve had all of this gear down to 130 feet on a training dive, and it performed perfectly. The setup is as follows:First stage:Mares MR12 Balanced diaphragm designDFC system (Dynamic Flow Control) which minimizes intermediate pressure drop during the inhalation phase.2 High Pressure 7/16″ UNF ports4 Low Pressure 3/8″ UNF portsSecond Stage:Mares AxisA simple, ultra-light and top performing second stage
with reinforced technopolymer construction. The integrated V.A.D.
system delivers high performance, as well as exceptional ease of
breathing. The coverplate features the “mesh grid” system, for
minimizing the likelihood of free-flow. Octo - alternate air source:This is a Tusa octo, I believe it to be the Platina model SS-10. On several dives, I used this as my primary air source, just to make sure it was as reliable and comfortable as the Mares. No doubt that it is. The SS-10 combines a large discharge valve with a
deflection tube and deflector to reduce exhaust resistance. The L.P.
hose is yellow like the main unit to improve visibility.Gauges:These are integrated air and depth gauges from Tusa, with a max depth indicator that helps with logging dives after the fact. I’ve had no problems with either accuracy or dependability with any of this gear since purchasing it. Condition:As this is used equipment, there is some superficial scratching, but this is minimal. All of this was in perfect working condition when packed away, and it’s been stored in optimal conditions, so I’m confident that it is all still working in tip-top shape. … Click For More Info
