Original manufacture date: February 1985
Hydro date: February 2010
Visual Inspection date: February 2010
Valve: Din/Yoke Convertible K valve
NOTE: This tank is made from 6351-T6 alloy. It has been properly tested and inspected, as shown by the “VE” stamp after the hydro test stamp (”VE” is for Visual Eddy).
Even so, some dive operators will not fill cylinders made from 6351 alloy. If you have any doubts, ASK YOUR DIVE SHOP IF THEY WILL FILL 6351 ALLOY CYLINDERS BEFORE PLACING A BID ON THIS TANK.
There are many facts and even more rumors circulating about 6351 alloy tanks. Facts: There was never a recall. These tanks were never required to be condemned or removed from service. There was a safety notice that required eddy current testing along with hydro testing and again when visually inspected. Most dive shops now perform eddy current testing on all aluminum cylinders.
